Ripped /torn jeans are jeans with rips, often on the knees. They were popular in the late 1980s during the hard rock/heavy metal Era and in the 1990s and 2000s during the grunge era, and we're worn by grunge artists such as Kurt Cobain and fans of the latter movement. Distressed - similar to ripped jeans, but the horizontial sewing point was removed to look like it was distressed.
Ripped and frayed jeans have always caught the
fancy of fashionistas, film stars and the fashion world alike. There’s something rugged and sexy about frayed and ripped jeans, especially when someone can carry it off the right way.
